Benefits Consulting Services RFP
Currently, CBIZ is part of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City’s preferred broker program known as Blue
Chip. Blue Chip agencies are eligible for an administrative service fee for the performance of additional duties. Blue
KC has contracted with CBIZ and a limited number of other appointed agencies to perform additional administrative
services on their behalf in exchange for an administrative services fee. CBIZ, like the others, was selected based on
several factors including size, professionalism, availability of resources and ability to perform various plan related
functions. Performance of these services on behalf of Blue KC helps reduce their internal operating costs by
eliminating the need to employee additional salaried staff. This cost is considered part of Blue Cross Blue Shield of
Kansas City’s overhead and IS NOT an additional charge to Unity. In other words, the administrative service fee is
not included in the premiums or fees paid to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City by Unity.
Furthermore, we have a Blue Cross Blue Shield dedicated service team that is available for our clients' needs as part
of this program, which translates into a higher level of service for Unity School of Christianity. We are prepared to
discuss any questions about compensation, including all forms of compensation, when Unity is ready to begin that
part of the process. We believe those discussions should always be transparent.
The majority of our compensation will be from your medical coverages. To that extent, the following is pertinent:

Typical client engagements are comprehensive in nature and all health and welfare-consulting services are included
