The assessment is achieved through actual site visits to each of the base station locations. The study

area includes all incorporated areas of the Town and a one-mile perimeter boundary around the

incorporated lands. The wireless infrastructure assessment the Town identifies twenty-two existing

wireless telecommunication facilities within the study area. Seven of the antenna locations are

within the Town’s jurisdiction the remaining fifteen antenna locations are within a 1-mile periphery.

Of the seven towers within the Town, American Tower Corporation owns two towers and Crown

Castle International owns the remaining five towers. Neither of these companies are wireless service

providers. Rather, both entities are tower owners who build towers and lease space on the towers to

the various wireless service providers. Six of the existing towers are monopoles and the seventh is a

lattice tower. All of the towers are less than 200 feet in height. Three are between 175’ and 199’;

three are between 150’ and 165’; and one tower is 120 feet. Three of the towers are grouped together

on one zone lot; three towers are located within or very near the industrial type zoning districts; and

one tower is located in Research Triangle Park.

Antennas mounted on towers within the Town are symbolized with a black dot. Antennas mounted

on towers outside the Town’s jurisdiction are identified by an orange dot. The pink dot indicates

broadcast facilities. These antenna locations are identified in Figure 9.
