Council Meetings.
1st July.
Twenty-two Members present.
Compensation Paying Orders.
A member of the Council having, at the
request of the Council, had an interview with
a representative of the Ministry of Finance
on the question of paying orders being sent
direct to the client, reported that he had
received an assurance that the practice of
the Ministry is to send to the Solicitor on
record the paying order for compensation
and costs payable to the client, but that
cases may have arisen where, through error
or othenvise, the paying order was sent direct
to the client.
Adaptation of Charters Bill.
A report from the Parliamentary Com–
mittee on this Bill which has been read a
.second time in the Bail was adopted.

Seventeen Members present.
Court of Examiners.
Reports were submitted from the Court of
Examiners on three applications for leave to
be bound under Section 16.
Two of the
applications were granted, the third was
refused.
Income Tax Repayment Claims.
The circular of 20th May, 1925, issued by
the Revenue Commissioners of the Irish Free
State in reference to repayment of income
tax claims was considered, and
it was
decided not to take any action in reference
thereto.
Colonial Solicitors Act, 1900.
A
letter was read
in reply from
the
Attorney-General stating that the matter of
taking steps so as to be in a position to make
application for an Order in Council applying
the Colonial Solicitors Act, 1900, to the Irish
Free State, was before the Executive Council
on more than one occasion, and further con–
sideration of the matter had been postponed
for the present.
It was ordered that a
further letter be written to the Attorney-
General drawing attention to the statement
made in
the British House of Commons
on 13th July, by Mr. Ormsby-Gore, Under–
secretary of State.

letter was read from the Assistant
Registrar enclosing copies of circular letters
which the Registrar proposes to send to
registered owners, and Solicitors for registered
owners, in cases where lands are in settle–
ment,
