Sawing machine
for cutting steel
pipes in layers
LAZZARI has improved the design and
technical features of its high-productivity
sawing machines in order to meet
requirements for increased performance
and lower cost-per-cut.
Components of the TL series sawing
machines, such as the machine bed and
structure to resist high loads, have been
redesigned, and the clamping system to
clamp in front of and behind the saw blade
has been renewed. The controlled position
and pressure eliminate the vibration of the
tubes during the cutting operation.
The heavy-duty guides for the sawing
head ensure maximum stiffness,
and the oversized dimensioned
gearbox features a special system to
automatically compensate for backlash.
The dumping devices for giving
guidance to the saw blade and for
decreasing vibrations have
different dimensions, and this
will give a smooth and straight
cutting surface and a longer
tool life. Extra cooling of the
saw blades has been installed,
to allow hot tubes up to 200°C
and more to be processed. By increasing
the saw blade diameter to 2,400mm it is
now possible to have a larger width of
layer than usual, and consequently the
output will be increased.
Sawing tools with a reduced cutting
width have been developed to produce
fewer chips and reduce energy
consumption. In addition to a short
cut-off time, the machines produce a
sellable cut with nearly no burr. The
additional external clamping devices
ensure perfect clamping of the tube
layer, avoiding crossed over pipes and
making the layer itself more stable.
The Lazzari operation control is flexible
and meets the specific requirements of
the customer, such as error diagnostics,
visualisation of the actual moving cycle
of the machine on screen, cutting
parameters, blade recording and cutting
optimisation, and tele-maintenance.
