production moved to the West Indian island of Trinidad. Our formula brings unique botanicals together
with First Flush Darjeeling, blended with other fruits and flowers. This is the only Angostura® aromatic

Formed in 2011. A second generation, family run business SMAKS is the maker of the only Angostura
®
aromatic bitters tea blend in the world. Since 2011, SMAKS has become the first winner of the UKTI Break-
point competition and a winner of the i2i Competition of the Republic of Trinindad and Tobago for the
creation of the worlds first and only Chai Rum, (a tea infused rum created by a unique process) due to be
launched this year.
The company has been recognised internationally, having won the first UKTI Breakpoint Competition in
Grenada where it was selected for passion, product and likelihood to success in the U.K market and
beyond. The company has also won a direct assistance grant from the Caribbean Export Development
Agency for innovative use of West Indian product and export potential.
