KeyWest
1
KeyWest, an island city, is part
of the Florida Keys and the
state’s southernmost point,
lying roughly 90 miles north
of Cuba. Famed for its pastel-
hued, conch-style houses and
laid-back attitude, it’s a cruise-
ship stop also accessible from
the mainland via the Overseas
Highway. It’s known more for
its coral reefs – destinations for
diving and snorkeling – than for
its beaches.
KeyWest Beach
2
There is plenty to see and
experience in KeyWest and,
because the island is small,
nothing is very far away from
where you are. Of course there
are beaches, most of them on
the south side of the island.
From the very busy Smathers
Beach with its volleyball games
and watersport concessions to
the much quieter beach at Fort
Zachary Taylor.
