Liverpool, a musical city
located in the north west of
England, is the “World’s Capital
City of Pop” and of course,
the 1960s rock sensation,
“The Beatles”. It is one of
the most visited cities in the
United Kingdom, thanks to
its grand buildings, historic
landmarks and wide variety of
museums and galleries. Being
over 800 years old, Liverpool
offers a mix of modern and
historical buildings including
two cathedrals. It has a vibrant
city centre with many pubs,
restaurants, entertainment
spots, public sculptures and
a number of world heritage
sites including the Pier Head
and Albert Dock. Liverpool has
several train stations with a city
centre station offering direct
trains to Manchester
(45 minutes), Central London
(2 hours) and Nottingham
(2 hours 30 minutes).
The PLUS centre is located in
the Carnatic Conference Park
campus of the University of
Liverpool. The campus is set
on Mossley Hill, which is one
of Liverpool’s main student
areas with the famous Penny
Lane within walking distance.
The environment is very secure
and nearby there is the Lark
Lane area offering a great
selection of bars, cafes, shops
and parks. The campus offers
beautiful views of the Wirral,
several green areas, lakes,
modern buildings as well as
excellent teaching, living and
sporting facilities. There is very
easy access to the city centre
within 20 minutes by public
transport.
