Known worldwide as “The
Home of Golf”, St Andrews is
a charming and historic town
that attracts visitors from all
over the world. It is on the
east coast of Scotland in the
county of Fife. The town of St
Andrews dates back to the 8th
century and is home to some
of the world’s most ancient
and beautiful architectural
structures. There are also
two great beaches as well as
many Victorian houses and a
vibrant medieval town centre
with cobbled streets, shops,
restaurants and cafes. St
Andrews is a small town and
everything is within easy
reach. There is a train station
in nearby Leuchars which is a
21-minute bus ride from St.
Andrew’s town centre. From
Leuchars train station, there
are direct trains to Edinburgh
(1 hour train ride) and Dundee
(15 minutes train ride).
The PLUS centre is located
in the historic University of
St Andrews, the third oldest
university in the English
speaking world and the oldest
in Scotland. It is a secure
university setting surrounded
by a lot of green open areas
and lakes and also features a
mix of Victorian and modern
buildings. The campus offers
students modern teaching,
living and sporting facilities.
The town centre is only
15 minutes walk away and
there is also a bus route from
the university.
