Tube Products International January 2010

www.read-tpi.com

Jansen uses state-of-the-art, high

performance machines to produce

welded, cold-rolled and drawn precision

and formed steel tubes made of various

qualities of steel.

The company’s advantage lies in

the development and production of

customer-specific steel tubes. In close

collaboration with customers and

with select material suppliers, Jansen

specialists develop solutions for

specific applications. The company’s

own process development and tool

making facilities allow rapid and flexible

reaction times, even at the prototyping

stage.

The drawing process allows production

of special sizes and forms at economical

conditions beginning at only 500m.

Significant customers include the

automotive and furniture industries, but

the precision steel tubes are also used

in the machine industry, for radiators

and cooling aggregates.

The company’s sites in Oberriet,

Switzerland and Dingelstädt, Germany

can process high strength steels with

tensile strengths up to 1,000N/mm

and

tubes with special ratios of diameter to

wall (from 6:1 to 60:1).

Computer-aided monitoring of relevant

processes and continuous testing

ensure consistent quality.

The services Jansen offers are

supplementedby variouspre-processing

and individual logistics services.

Depending on requirements, the tubes

are cut to size, de-burred, chamfered,

washed or annealed in Jansen’s own

plant.

Special form steel tubes are available

even in small quantities

CRC-Evans Automatic Welding has

launched a new dual-torch external

automatic welding machine for small-

diameter offshore and spoolbase

applications. The P625 offers leading-

edge technology and outstanding weld

quality in a compact machine that brings

high productivity to offshore jobs.

The P625 is fully digital, with through-

the-arc tracking and pulse MIG to

maximise speed and produce high

quality welds. Computerised monitoring

and control keep the torch and bead in

perfect position, removing the chance

of human error in the welding process.

From pre-weld programming to real-time

operation and post-project assessment,

digital technology takes care of accuracy

and repeatable performance.

CRC-Evans introduces small, light P625 welder

The P625 allows software to be

upgraded in the field, so that changes

in weld parameters can be made on the

fly, getting the machine back to work

quickly. In the office, a PDA user can

program parameters and then download

them wirelessly to the P625, or data can

be uploaded to a PDA in the field and

taken back to the office for analysis and

reporting.

The P625 is also designed with scalable

architecture that will accommodate

future innovations, so it can be updated

with the latest technology.

CRC-Evans Automatic Welding designs

and builds the automatic welding

systems for land and offshore pipeline

construction. In addition to renting and

selling these systems to contractors on

a project basis, the division provides

other specialised services such as

engineering, on-site technicians, and

training. The company is a subsidiary

of CRC-Evans Pipeline International,

a provider of specialised equipment

and services for the construction of

pipelines.

CRC-Evans manufactures pipeline

construction equipment and automatic

welding systems, and provides

managed subsea services, field joint

coating, weighting, heat treatment, and

inspection services.
