PTC Alliance Corporation manufactures drawn over mandrel

(DOM) steel tubes and chrome bars used by the fluid

power and automobile industries. The company, along with

subsidiary Wiederholt, claims to be the largest manufacturer of

drawn over mandrel steel tubes in the world. The companies’

products find application as cylinder and piston rod parts

in hydraulic cylinders fitted in equipment for construction,

material handling and excavation and as axles, steering, drive

shafts, shock absorbers, and stabiliser bars.

The company has been a pioneer in innovating new products,

such as lighter weight tubes with higher strengths, tubes with

closer tolerances to improve performance and reduce costs,

and bars with improved life cycles, while adopting green

technologies.

Founded in 2004, subsidiary company PTC Alliance (UK)

Limited provides support to customers in the European

region. New company PTC Alliance Precision Products

(Asia) Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the parent American company,

incorporated recently in Chennai, India, intends to extend the

scope of the operations to cover the Asian Region. The new

company will promote marketing and distribution of products

in the Asian Region while actively pursuing opportunities to

outsource products and services from Asia to Europe and

Northern America.

Tubes in stainless steel

Sedes Group, Italy, designs and produces electrical heating

elements for industry and household appliances, such as

flexible heating cables, aluminium and foil heaters, various

insulated etched-foil heating elements, heating bands,

stainless steel tubular heaters, cartridges, self-regulating

cables and constant power cables.

With its experience and knowledge in stainless steel

tubular heating element production, the group is also

specialised in the production of round steel tubes. The

company’s production process makes use of profiling

machinery for the manufacturing of electrowelded tubes

in stainless steel, from 4.5 to 16mm in diameter, with

minimum thickness of 0.35mm, and in lengths from 500

to 6,000mm.

Alloys used include austenitic (AISI 300 series) and

refractory high nickel content (alloy 800, 825, 840, alloy

600-601). All products can be manufactured according to

standard specifications and different market applications

(refrigeration, heating and food sectors).
