CHANNEL DRAINS
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
With subdrain
1. Determine installed locationof channel drain, piping and subdrain.
2. Install subdrainbodywith suitable support and connect outlet topipework
3. Install subfloor. There aremany options at this juncture, follow local codes and subfloormanufacturers
recommendations. Allow for correct slope, thin set and tileheight.
4. Install waterproofmembrane as permanufacturer’s instructions.
5. Cutmembrane to reveal drainbolt heads andoutlet.
6. Install clamping flange
7. Lubricate JACLO channel drainoutlet with a liquid soap andpress into subdrain seal to correct height
andposition
8. Adjust legs todesired height and tightenwing nuts
9. Install suitable tilebaseon topof themembranemortar, backer board, etc. There aremany options at
this juncture, follow local codes and tilebasemanufacturers recommendations.
10. Allow for correct slope, thin set and tileheight.
11. Tile height + thin setmortar heightmust equal 1/2”. This is the fixed rim height above the tile flange.
Adjust thin set amount to achieve this dimension.
12. Apply thin setmortar, tile leaving a space for thegrout line
13. Apply grout
