IASA News in Brief
IASA Central Illinois Valley and Shawnee
Regions award Presidential Citations
The
Central Illinois Valley Region of the IASA has issued a Presidential Citations to Mr.
Tom Neeley
, who currently serves on the Morton CUSD 709 Board of Education. Mr. Neeley has also
served as president of the Board and currently is the State Director for the CIV Region of the IASB.
The
Shawnee Region of IASA has issued a Presidential Citation to Ms. Jo Bach
, bookkeeper
at Giant City schools. She has worked in the district for 28 years and has an outstanding work ethic,
dedicating long hours to the district each month. As resources shrink, Mrs. Bach is always looking for
the “out of the box” solutions. She is kind and caring and shows up every day with a smile and positive
attitude.
Each year, IASA encourages regions to present Presidential Citations to individuals who have
made significant contributions to public education even though they may not be professional
educators.
All of us are very concerned about state funding levels and other issues
that are negatively affecting education in Illinois. Two Illinois superintendents
have collected data for the last three years and presented their findings at
the state and national level. We need your help to obtain data for the fourth year. Please follow the link
to
to fill out the survey.
It should only take you about 15 minutes to complete. The information you share is very important and
valued. We will follow through and lobby on your behalf after we compile our results. Thank you for
taking the time to fill out the survey.
In Appreciation,
Dr. Mary N. Parker, Delavan CUSD 703 Superintendent
