Ice Stars
Frosty little galaxies form
overnight
Streaks of crystals
sweep over the windowpane
Dawn is broken
the sun’s pulsing light
drives through the ice
formations.
Supernovas shine,
stars glitter,
All space is alight
with golden flames
As the sun rises
comets of silver crisscross
with soft thrums
of gilded rays
The galaxy begins
to melt away slowly,
drips cascading,
long forgotten by the night.
But a new galaxy
always forms
each wintry evening
continuing the cycle
of wondrous fire.
