Act,
1924.
The question of advocating a reduction of
the extent of the jurisdiction conferred upon
the Circuit Courts in contract and in tort
was again considered, and a resolution was
adopted expressing
the opinion
of
the
Council, "that this is not an opportune
time to put forward any suggestions for the
alteration of the common law jurisdiction of
the Circuit Courts."
Circuit Court Rules.
A resolution received from the Limerick
Sessions Bar expressing disapproval of the
Circuit Court Rules at present before the
Oireachtas was submitted.
Courts of
Justice
Bill, 1928.
A resolution was passed requesting the
Minister for Justice, in making appointments
under the Courts of Justice Bill at present
before
the Oireachtas,
to
the Office
of
Assistant Justice, to consider the claims of
the Solicitors' profession to a fair proportion
of such appointments.

Resolutions of sympathy.
Resolutions were passed expressing the
regret of the Council at the deaths of Master
Kilbride
and Mr. Charles H. Chaytor,
Solicitor, and conveying the sympathy of
the Council to their relatives.
Bankruptcy Commission.
Questions arising out of evidence to be
given on behalf of the Council on the law
of Winding-up Companies were discussed
and ruled on.
OBITUARY.
MR. CHARLES H. CHAYTOR, Solicitor, died
upon the 16th June, 1928.
Mr. Chaytor was admitted in Trinity
Sittings, 1888, and practised at 13 Moles-
worth Street, Dublin (formerly in partner
ship with Mr. A. V. Montgomery) under the
style of Montgomery and Chaytor.
He was a member of the Council of the
Society from 1901 to 1906, and was a Vice-
President of the Society for the year 1904-05.
MR. DENIS C. RUSHE, Solicitor, died upon
the 20th June, 1928, at his residence Far-
Meehul, Monaghan.
Mr. Rushe was admitted in Michaelmas
Sittings, 1878, and practised at Monaghan up
to 1900, when he was appointed Secretary of
Monaghan County Council, which position
he held up to 1926, when he retired.
