The Ballot for election of Council will be
held on Wednesday, 21st November, from
eleven to one o'clock, in the Secretary'sOffice,
45 Kildare Street, Dublin. Voting papers
should reach the Secretary not later than one
o'clock on the 21st November.
HALF-YEARLY GENERAL MEETING.
The Half-yearly General Meeting of the
Society will be held at two o'clock, p.m., on
Monday, 26th November, in the Offices of
the Society, 45 Kildare Street, Dublin.

Twenty-six Members present.
Provisional Orders.
A letter was read from a member drawing
attention to the want of Circuit Court Rules
regulating procedure for appeals against
Provisional Orders, under the Local Govern
ment Act, 1925.
It was ordered that the
attention of the Minister for Justice be drawn
to this matter.
High Court Judgments.
The President informed the Council that,
as requested by the Council, he had attended
with representatives of the Banks' Standing
Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, and
the Dublin Mercantile Association, on a
deputation to the Minister for Justice, to
request him
to
introduce
legislation
to
validate High Court judgments affected by
the decision in case of " Stokes
v.
Wilkie,"
and that the Minister had promised to give
the matter careful consideration.

Legal Practitioners (Qualification) Bill, 1928.
A report from the Court of Examiners on
this Bill, introduced in the Dail by a private
member, was considered, and it was resolved
that a Special Meeting of the Council be
held on the 1st November, to further con
sider the Bill; the Court of Examiners in
the meantime to prepare a further report.
Annual Report.
The draft Annual Report of the Council
was submitted and adopted.
OBITUARY.
MR. WILLIAM
JARDINE, Solicitor, died
recently at Melbourne, Australia.
Mr. Jardine served his apprenticeship with
the late Mr. Hans McMordie, Belfast; was
admitted in Trinity Sittings, 1883, and
practised at Belfast and Dromore up to 1890,
when he went to Australia.
MR. HUNT W. HARDMAN, Solicitor, died
upon
the 3rd September,
1928, at his
residence, 10 Waltham Terrace, Blackrock,
Co. Dublin.
Mr. Hardman served his apprenticeship
with his father, the late Mr. Townley W.
Hardman, Dublin ; was admitted in Trinity
Term, 1875, and practised in partnership
with the late Mr. Win. B. Hardman and
Mr. Cyril H. Hardman, under the style of
T. W. Hardman & Sons, at 14 Molesworth
Street, Dublin.
