MRI:
routine protocol
• 3D T1-weighted sequence before IV contrast medium
• Axial T2 weighted
• Axial T2 weighted FLAIR sequence (for lesions within the
cortex or paraventricular - useful in low grade gliomas)
• Axial Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI)
• Axial T2*-weighted sequence (sensitive to blood and
calcifications)
• Susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI)
• 3D Contrast enhanced T1 weighted sequences
