EARLY POSTOP MRI
Enhancing granulation tissue begins to develop
3 days after surgery, persist for weeks
to month, and mimics tumour
Post op imaging should be performed
within 48h of surgery, the sooner the better
Pitfall:
when comparing studies, the size and shape of a tumor can appear substantially
different due to differences in the angle of imaging, slice thickness and gaps between slices
