Radiation-induced normal brain tissue necrosis was

found to occur at NTD

The applied reirradiation dose and NTD

were

found to increase with a change in irradiation technique

from conventional to conformal techniques such as FSRT

to SRS, without increasing the probability of normal brain

necrosis.

The analysis shows the applied

total cumulative dose

to

be the most important factor with regard to the

development of

radionecrosis

Reirradiation is a feasible option as palliative therapy for

recurrent high grade glioma
