I. CURRENT BUSINESS
Activities – Kim Miedema
Thanks to all who stepped up to host an event this year. The Horse Races, hosted by PC
Pete Beecherl, was a great success. Everyone had a blast. Jeff Edgerly put together the
Poker Run which was a ton of fun. Thanks to Terry Hart and Donna Glick for the use of their
island as one stop on the poker run. Also thanks to Terry and Donna for hosting the Smoke
on the Water on September 14
th
. Anyone interested in hosting an event for next year
should contact the Activities Director. These events bring a lot of revenue to the club with
bar sales and dockage from non members. The Adult Field Day was a lot of fun. Thanks to
PC Gary Barnard for his work on the incoming rendezvous. It is a lot of work to put these
rendezvous together. Thanks to all of the week managers and week-end OD’s for all the
extra work in hosting these incoming rendezvous. A special mention to PC Rick and Jill
Romatz for an amazing job on the Youth Activities this year. Outstanding job to Fleet
Captains, Greg and Yvonne Murray, for a great job with the rendezvous. We still have a lot
of activities coming in September. Next weekend is the Kid’s Campout, the week after is the
Smoke on the Water (with a live band), then we have our last rendezvous, which will be
held on the island. We also have the Golf Outing on September 28
th
. There is a sign up
sheet in the clubhouse. We are also looking for donations for the outing.

kitchen has been busy, new fans have helped cool us during those hot days, and the rooms
upstairs were often full. Early in the season many members helped with major renovations
in the manager’s apartment. Hope you have had a chance to peek in and look.
Maintenance and upgrades are on going in the clubhouse so we can remain the showplace
of the lake. Your suggestions are very helpful as we continue the work of our building. Too
soon it will be time to prepare for another Michigan winter. As usual we will need all hands
