SOFTBALL
The 1982 season for the wom
en's Softballteam was one fullof
excitement. Head coach Kevin
McGarry beganhis third season as
Torera coach with high expecta
tions forthe team in their second
season of division II competition.
Last years MVP Maureen McNa-
mara returned for her senior year
at shortstop along with the team's
leading hitter Cheryl Galloway
who returned to lead the offensive
attack. Also returning were two-
year starters Kate Donahue, a ju
nior outfielder, and Alice Zum-
stein, a junior third basewoman.
The pitching duties were shared
by sophomore Karen Grills and
freshman ViolaUribe. Other play
ers called on to fill in starting
spots were three freshmen: Col
leen Curran, LindaAnderson, and
Sonna Solamine.
