gender. Of the 13 studies, 2 found a significant
correlation with female gender being risk factor, 1 study
saw a borderline association and the remaining 10
studies saw no association between gender and risk of
HT

Female gender is risk factor for HT: OR=1.57, 95% CI:
1.30-1.88, p<0.00001

“Discrepancy” between studies pure statistical
coincidence (insufficient power)
