, and I pastured the flock. In one month, I got rid of the three
shepherds. The flock detested me, and I grew weary of them and said, ‘I will
not be your shepherd. Let the dying die, and the perishing perish. Let those
who are left eat one another’s flesh.’”
“Then I took my staff called Favor and broke it, revoking the covenant I
had made with all the nations. It was revoked on that day, and so the
afflicted of the flock who were watching me knew it was the word of the
LORD. I told them, ‘If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep
it.’ So they paid me thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said to me,
‘Throw it to the potter—the handsome price at which they priced me!’ So I
took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD
to the potter.

. Then the LORD said to me, ‘Take
again the equipment of a foolish shepherd. For I am going to raise up a
shepherd over the land who will not care for the lost, or seek the young, or
heal the injured, or feed the healthy, but will eat the meat of the choice
sheep, tearing off their hoofs. Woe to the worthless shepherd, who deserts
the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! May his arm be
completely withered, his right eye totally blinded!’”
(Zechariah 11: 4–17)
These strong words are very specific and directed to those who say they are
serving God and pasturing His flock, all the while doing the opposite and
becoming rich. Mankind uses false words that are contrary to their exact
meaning, and mimic words spoken by others. God’s words through
Zechariah are in stark contrast with what the shepherds portray throughout
time, especially today. Many are called, but few are chosen. However, the
clerics of today affirm their calling while attempting to ordain others. With
the greatest intentions, they are called by different religions that proclaim
Christianity the way they were taught, as if taught by God. But, in fact they
are taught mere rules of man. Self justified in their misunderstandings, they
are guilty according to Zechariah’s prophecy. Otherwise, the world that
claims to be Christian would not be a house divided, and not guilty as the
world is today. Those who are called, and supposedly chosen, must know
the whole truth and what they are chosen for. They must understand the
unveiled golden thread of truth running through the scriptures.
Those who are wise will comprehend, but those who think it is foolishness
and scoff contemptuously, will be consumed by what prompts their
objections—caution within the scriptures seems endless.
