a global scale is as exciting to us
as producers as it was the first
time around,” say Timpson and
League.
Of the 26 new directors
recruited for the sequel, names
that will be instantly familiar to
horror fans include Julien Maury
and Alexandre Bustillo (
Inside
,
Livid
), Vincenzo Natali (
Cube
,
Splice
), and Canada’s ‘Twisted
Twins’ Jen and Sylvia Soska
(
American Mary
,

We won’t spoil the gruesome
surprises on offer in
ABCs of
Death 2
, but highlights include
Robert Morgan’s stop motion
animated
Deloused
,
which resembles a Tim
Burton film from Hell;
Robert Boocheck’s
tasty
Masticate
; Rodney Ascher’s
clever
Questionnaire
; and Chris
Nash’s stomach-churning
Zygote
.
And needless to say, the prize for
the most disturbing entry goes
to Julien Maury and Alexandre
Bustillo’s
Xylophone
, which sees
the pair reunite with their regular
scream queen Beatrice Dalle.
Collectively,
ABCs of Death 2
offers an altogether different
and more tonally consistent
experience to the previous film.
“The overall quality appears
higher and the variety of films is
even more diverse,” promises
Timpson and League.
You can learn your ABCs (of Death) all over again
when the sequel hits DVD and Blu-ray on December 17.
