LAW-2011 Intellectual Property Law Meet

Prof. Rebecca Curtin,

2 credits day; 2 credits evening.

The IP Law Meet is a competition similar to a moot court competition, but based on the drafting

and negotiation of a mock commercial transaction involving intellectual property assets

(copyright, trademark, patent and/or trade secret). Teams will complete on the basis of the term

sheets they draft in response to the propose transaction and the competition will culminate in live

negotiations on October 23, 2015, hosted at the University of New Hampshire Law School. In

the past, several law schools have competed in the East Coast meet, including William & Mary,

UVA, UPenn, UNH, Temple and American. Ideal candidates will have an interest in intellectual

property and corporate law, and have taken at least one IP course and a course in corporations,

negotiation, or drafting. Team members must also be available for two mock client conference

calls scheduled for September 25th and October 9th. For more information about the

requirements of the competition in general, please see

http://ipmeet.lawmeets.com/about

. For

more information about the requirements of the competition, including the due dates of the term

Team

members are selected through an application process during the spring semester prior to the

competition in the fall semester. The submission procedure is publicized through Campus

Cruiser each spring. Team members will be eligible to receive two course credits for
