30,000

th

Combilift handed over at CeMAT

COMBILIFT Ltd, the Irish specialist

manufacturer of multi-directional forklifts,

straddle carriers and other innovative

handling solutions for long loads,

containers and palletised goods, recently

celebrated a milestone in the company’s

history. The 30,000

th

Combilift to roll

off the production lines in Monaghan,

Ireland, was officially handed over to its

new owner during the CeMAT materials

handling and logistics trade fair in

Hanover, Germany.

Managing director Arno Sorger

accepted the Combilift C14000 model

on behalf of Haslinger Stahlbau, one of

the major steel construction companies

in Europe. Established in 1949 and

headquartered in Feldkirchen in

Southern Austria, Haslinger Stahlbau

also has facilities in Vienna, Munich and

Dresden in Germany, and Dunavecse in

Hungary.

Haslinger Stahlbau’s construction

projects include production facilities,

logistics centres, aircraft hangars,

bridges, sports complexes and industrial

power plants. The company processes

an annual amount of around 40,000

tons of steel to realise these projects –

with this figure continuing to rise – and

the new C14000 is its

eighth Combilift. A variety

of models from a four-

ton capacity Combi-CB

design

truck, and 8-, 12- and

14-ton models from the

Combi-C Series are in

operation across its sites to

ensure safe and productive

handling and storage of its

heavy loads. Combilift has some way to go to catch up Haslinger

Stahlbau’s

longevity,

but in terms of growth

and success in the materials handling

sector it has made its mark since it

was established in 1998. Year-on-year

growth has enabled what started as a

small company offering a niche product

to now be a major global name.

From its global HQ, manufacturing

facility and R&D department in

Monaghan, the 450-strong workforce

designs, develops and manufactures a

wide range of products that are exported

to 75 countries.

Combilift MD Martin McVicar com-

mented: “The amount of custom-

isation featured in every model we pro-

duce makes the total of 30,000 units

manufactured to date an impressive

achievement and I’d like to acknowledge

the hard work of the Combilift team. But

of course thanks must also go to cus-

tomers such as Haslinger Stahlbau who

put their faith in our products and thus

enable us to continue to be the market

leader in our manufacturing segment.”
