a d i n n er held at the Society's
H e a d q u a r t e rs in Blackhall Place.

d u r i ng the 40 year period which h ad
elapsed since they q u a l i f i e d, this
u n i q ue occasion was a r e s o u n d i ng
social success as t ho se present
reminisced effortlessly with their
colleagues.

T h e Law Faculty of University
College Dub l in is establishing an
a d j u n ct faculty to enable its law
school to utilise at a high level, a nd
in a coherent a nd structured ma n n e r,
the expertise of distinguished
memb e rs of the practising legal
profession.
T h e De an of the Faculty,
Paul
O'Connor,
says " t h e expansion in
the range of legal courses at U C D -
particularly the creation of new
specialised Ma s t e r s' p r o g r ammes in
c omme r c i al a nd E u r o p e an law -
h as m a d e b o th desirable a nd
inevitable the creation of an a d j u n ct
faculty. T h e a d j u n ct faculty
p r o g r amme is viewed by the faculty
as o ne which will e n h a n ce the
quality of legal e d u c a t i on at U C D
a n d establish closer ties with the
legal p r o f e s s i o n ."
In January, 1993 the U CD Law
Faculty will welcome
Maurice Curran
as its First adjunct faculty member.
He will have the title Visiting Fellow,
and will contribute to the faculty's
undergraduate a nd postgraduate legal
programmes in commercial law a nd
corporate affairs.
Ma u r i ce C u r r an is senior a nd
ma n a g i ng p a r t n er in Ma s o n, Hayes
a n d Cu r r a n, a f o r mer President of
the Law Society, a Fellow of the
Ch a r t e r ed Institute of A r b i t r a t i o n,
a n d a g o v e r nme nt a p p o i n t ed
inspector (Greencore). He is a first
class h o n o u rs BCL a nd L LB
g r a d u a te of U C D a nd subsequently
t u t o r ed in U C D in the law of real
property.
