At the January Preliminary Examination

The Council awarded a Silver Medal to
John R. Halpin, B.A., T.C.D.. and a Special
Certificate to Mary D. Heron, B.A., Q.U.B.
Mr. John R. Halpin, B.A., T.C.D., who
obtained first place and a Silver Medal,
served his apprenticeship with his father,
Mr. W. H. Halpin, Erskine Terrace, Cavan.
Miss Mary D. Heron, B.A., Q.U.B., who
obtained second place and a Special Certifi
cate, served her apprenticeship with her
uncle, Mr. T. M. Heron, Mayfair, Belfast.
She is the first woman to pass the Final
Examination for admission as a Solicitor in
Ireland.
The Society's Calendar.
The Society's Calendar for 1923 can be
obtained at the Society's Office, 33 Moles-
worth Street, Dublin, price five shillings ; by
post, five shillings and sixpence.
Library.
The Council have purchased a number of
those Law Books which are in most frequent
demand in Solicitors' Offices, and they are
being lent out, and applications for loans
made at the Office of the Society, 33 Moles-
worth Street, will receive attention.
The Council acknowledge with thanks the
