Practical consequences
• The geometrical accuracy of MR images tends to be worse towards
the edges of the field of view
• Field distortions due to susceptibility differences are larges near
interfaces (body contour, air pockets)
• Devices used during interventions (brachytherapy) make cause
artifacts
