FUTURE INITIATIVES, GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Work with aboriginal community to
improve access to programs and
services;
Enhance access to multilingual
resources by cataloguing Chinese
Collection; and
Seek opportunities to strengthen
relationships with partners to facilitate
integration of newcomers.
Create a more coordinated approach to
delivering services beyond the library
walls; and
Improve programs and partnerships to
improve access to vulnerable
populations.
Strengthen creative economy by
promoting work of local authors
through programs and online services;
and
Launch a digitization station that ena-
bles the conversion of analog content,
such as VHS tapes into a digital format.
Promote the value of learning by
hosting the Grand Reading Link
Challenge;
Celebrate the 30th anniversary of
Surrey Library’s Young Adult Writing
Contest; and
Strengthen digital literacy skills
through an array of programs aimed at
children.
Plan for a new library in Clayton;
Advocate for more library services in
underserved areas, such as Grandview
Heights; and
Refurbish Newton and Fleetwood
Libraries.
