FUTURE INITIATIVES, GOALS & INITIATIVES
Mitigate odour concerns by
constructing two odour control facilities
in South Surrey. Identify the need for
future odour control facilities;
Complete the development of cost-
effective servicing strategies that the
development community can
implement for the Abbey Ridge LAP,
Redwood Heights NCP, Newton Town
Centre LAP and City Centre NCP; and
Initiate the development of cost
effective servicing strategies that the
development community can
implement for the Grandview Heights
Area #3 NCP area and the South
Campbell Heights LAP area.
Continue to upgrade sewers with
capacity constraints to avoid sanitary
sewer overflows into environmental
sensitive watercourse by completing
two sewer relief construction packages;
and
Continue sewer rehabilitation and cross
connection investigation in an effort to
reduce the inflow and infiltration (“I&I”)
rate by completing the Robson Creek
Catchment Rehabilitation and Renewal
program study.
Establish a Municipal Type Servicing Agreement (“MTSA”) with Semiahmoo First
Nations to provide sanitary sewer services for their existing community.
Develop and implement an education campaign for residents to advise them of
inflow and infiltration and actions they can take to reduce any inflow and infiltration.
