Develop and implement a plan to pilot
Advanced Metering Infrastructure
(“AMI”) in an effort to provide custom-
ers in the Port Kells industrial area the
opportunity to monitor their usage in
real time; and
Reintroduce the Save H
2
O program with
a focus on reducing seasonal irrigation
for all customers in South Surrey.
Investigate the chlorine residual in our
water distribution system and develop a
plan to implement any remedial action
necessary;
Achieve over 95% compliance of the
annual testing backflow preventers; and
Continue to protect the City’s water
quality by conducting cross connection
control surveys at 300 industrial,
commercial and institutionally zoned
properties.
Coordinate with Metro Vancouver on the construction of Annacis No. 5 river
crossing.

Establish a municipal type servicing agreement (“MTSA”) with the Semiahmoo First
Nations to provide water for their existing community.
Complete the development of cost-
effective servicing strategies that the
development community can
implement for the Abbey Ridge LAP,
Redwood Heights NCP, Newton Town
Centre LAP and City Centre NCP; and
Initiate the development of cost
effective servicing strategies that the
development community can
implement for the Grandview Heights
Area #3 NCP area and the South
Campbell Heights LAP area.
