All Steve’s investments have been technology-based because that is what
he cares about most. In 2010, he invested in Crocodoc, RethinkDB, Course
Hero, and ReadyForZero. Both Crocodoc and RethinkDB focused on us-
ing computer languages in a different way, whether creating a document
or a new database. Course Hero, however, was used for educational
purposes. The website provides a wealth of resources such as study docu-
ments, tutors, flashcards, and even online courses. ReadyForZero is a
company that creates software to help people control and reduce their
debt.
Steve invested in four more companies in 2011: Hearsay Social, Con-
textLogic, Road Hero, and Beautylish. Hearsay Social helps financial

technology to help people change their lives for the better.
