This web conference will be held in accordance with AOAC policies for
Antitrust, Volunteer Conflict of Interest, and Use of Association Name and Insignia.
I.
INTRODUCTIONS/WELCOME (AOAC Staff/Kuhlmann – 2:00PM-2:05PM)
AOAC Staff will confirm participating attendees and Jan Kuhlmann (SGS Germany GmbH) will call the Working
Group meeting to order and welcome all participants.
II.
STANDARD METHOD PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT (SMPR®) ORIENTATION/OVERVIEW (Coates –
2:05PM-2:15PM)
Scott Coates (AOAC) will provide the working group members with an overview of the SMPR® process.
III.
2- AND 3-MCPD AND GLYCIDYL ESTERS (GE) (Kuhlmann – 2:15PM-2:35PM)
Jan Kuhlmann will present the launch presentation including technical information, regulatory requirements,
and a proposed fitness for purpose for 2 and 3-monochloro-1,2-propanediol (2- and 3-MCPD) and glycidyl esters
(GE) in infant formula.
IV.
REVIEW OF ENDORSED FITNESS-FOR-PURPOSE
(Coates – 2:35PM-2:45PM)
Scott Coates will review the fitness-for-purpose statement approved by working group on March 15, 2017.
V.
STANDARD METHOD PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT (SMPR®) DEVELOPMENT
(Kuhlmann/Coates –
2:45PM-3:25PM)
The working group led by Jan Kuhlmann and Scott Coates will begin drafting the SMPR®.

NEXT STEPS/WRAP UP
(AOAC Staff – 3:25PM-3:30PM)
AOAC Staff will review any action items for the working group and will provide a timeline of working group
activities, review of any action items, and answer additional questions.
