Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma

Alveolar RMS is associated with characteristic balanced
chromosomal translocations t (2; 13) (q35;q14) and t
(1;13)(p36;p14) which form a fusion gene between the 5’ end of
either
PAX3
or
PAX7
and the 3’ end of
FOXO1
•
These alterations are seen in 70 to 80% of ARMS and
associated with poor prognosis
