COURT RE -ORGANI SAT ION

Mr. Gilmore T.D. asked the Minister

for Justice in the Dáil on February

27, 1990 when it was intended to

initiate the process of court re-

organisation, including the est-

ablishment of a new civil court of

appeal, which was promised in

1989-1993;

and if the Minister

would make a statement on the

- The Minister for Justice (Mr.

Burke) stated that work had

commenced in his Department on

proposals for the necessary

legislation to establish a court of

civil appeal.

The review of District Court

venues, which he mentioned in the

House already, was almost com-

pleted and he expected to an-

nounce proposals shortly for the

closing of a number of venues.
