Quebec City service centre opens
Marmon/Keystone Canada has opened
its seventh warehousing facility, located
just 15 miles southwest of downtown
Quebec City, near Autoroute 20.
The metals service centre offers
stainless and carbon pipe, tube and bar
products to customers within a 160km
service radius of Quebec City. Main
industries served include transportation,
machining, mining, andmanufacturers of
hydraulic cylinders and food processing
equipment.
The 24,500ft
2
service
centre is staffed by three
warehouse
employees
who operate two overhead
cranes and provide cutting
services.
Quebec City is a satellite
location of the larger
Boucherville,
Quebec,
branch. Regional manager
Sébastien Gallant, who
oversees both operations,
commented, “This new
facility will enhance service to our major
customers by reducing delivery times.
The location also puts us in the heart of
a substantial stainless market.”
Marmon/Keystone Canada, an affiliate
of Marmon/Keystone LLC of Butler,
Pennsylvania, USA, is a distributor
of tubular products, with more than
8,300 sizes and grades of carbon,
stainless and aluminium tubular and
bar products. Service centres and sales
offices are located throughout Canada
with corporate offices in Burlington,
Ontario.
A groundbreaking ceremony was
recently held for Marmon/Keystone’s
new metals service centre building in
McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, USA.
The new facility is expected to be fully
operational by September 2013.
The current McConnellsburg service
centre, established in 2004, operates
out of leased warehouse space.
“The new facility will be 25 per cent
larger than our current space, which will
allow us to handle material in a more
efficient manner,” said Lou Grenci, VP
north-eastern region. “The extra space
will also provide the opportunity to
increase our capabilities, enabling us to
take on additional business.”
Value added manager Tim Wamba
directly oversees the McConnellsburg
facility, while Mr Grenci is responsible for
overall operations. Palmer Construction
Co of McConnellsburg is handling the
construction of the new building.

Flexseal announces growth
into the French market
As part of the continued European
growth of the Fernco Group, Flexseal
Couplings has launched a new
operation in France. Operating under
the Fernco brand name, the French
office will supply the group’s range of
drainage and plumbing couplings, and
provide the French marketplace with an
alternative to those currently on sale.
As a key part of this expansion,
Fernco France has announced a
new strategic partnership with FLB
of Lievin, manufacturer of a range of
PVC products for the construction,
buildings and public works markets.
The group will continue to develop the
FLB manufacturing operation and at the
same time offer a more complete range
of products to the French market.
Flexseal’s group managing director,
Tony Leyland, commented, “These
are bold and exciting steps in the
development of our European markets.
After establishing ourselves as leaders
in both Germany and the UK, France
is now also of great importance to
us.
“With the integration of FLB into our
group we now have a bigger presence,
a larger, more dynamic team, and a
more complete range of products.”
