GAZETTE
JULY 1996
This Section appears to refer
specifically to Pension Schemes
which contain a conditionjhat the
spouses should be living together at
the time the relevant benefit becomes
payable. Presumably, although it is
not specifically mentioned in Section
13, the Court can make an order under
Section 13 in addition to an order
under Section 12.

Golf Out ing At Woodbrook
A most enjoyable Golf Outing was
recently held in Woodbrook in aid of
the Solicitors' Benevolent Association.
The thanks of the Association are due
to
Colm Price
who organised it. Mr.
Price employed his usual charm to
encourage his colleagues onto the tee in
a mixed scramble. This was followed
by dinner in the Clubhouse which was
open to non-players as well. The
Association is also grateful to the Bank
of Ireland which sponsored the event.
The outing raised just under £2,000 and
those who made donations as well as
those who played will be happy to
know that this money will be used to
alleviate the hardship experienced by
some of their less fortunate colleagues
and their families.
The Association is delighted to
encourage members who organise
fund-raising events. Particular thanks
are due to the Dublin Solicitor's Bar
Association for organising a Summer
Party held in July. The Association's
thanks must also go to
Justin
McKenna,
President of the DSBA who
organised some of his colleagues to do
the mara-cycle to Belfast on 21 June
1996. The President of the Law
Society,
Andrew F. Smyth,
is arranging
a concert to be given by Our Lady's
Choral Society in Blackhall Place on
Tuesday 1 October, the proceeds to go
to the Benevolent Association. It is
hoped that members will give this their
full support.
