Top left:

Every year at the end of August, 228 Street is closed to traffic and fills with

hundreds of classic cars as part of the ‘Cruisin’ for a Cause’ event hosted by the local

A&W franchise. The event is popular with all generations who enjoy automobile history and

supporting the work to fund research to find a cure for MS.

Top right:

On November 10 the old Mussallem Motors building at the corner of

Lougheed Highway and 223 Street was the scene of a huge fire. The building dates back

to the 1930’s and since the Cadillac dealership closed, the building has seen a number of

uses. Fortunately, no one was injured in or fighting the fire.

Centre:

On November 11 the City of Maple Ridge gathered at Memorial Peace Park

for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony organized by the Royal Canadian Legion

Branch #88. Photographer Oliver Rathonyi-Reusz captured this touching moment from the

ceremony.

Bottom left:

At the end of October the community gathered for the second annual

Celebrate the Night Festival at Memorial Peace Park. The park was filled with young

citizens dressed in their Halloween costumes and while they waited for the fireworks there

was music, dance and crafts.

Garibaldi Secondary School international students Esther Ramirez from

Spain, and Greta Francke from Germany, are shown with their gingerbread house creations

that were entered in a regional competition in December.
