Bihler’s NC-controlled gripper feed unit
RZV 2 is a compact, highly flexible feeding
system for strip and wire. It is especially
suited for profiled, enamelled or coated
material with a sensitive surface. It allows
processing machines to be charged with
material, directly fed from the coil, in precisely
defined lengths fromzero to infinite.
The material is treated especially gently
as three grippers are always in action
simultaneously. This multiple clamping
avoids slipping of the material and
consequent sequence errors, and ensures
reliable positioning without deformation
of the material. The pressure compensation
system, distributed between all three
grippers in action, is said to further
guarantee the exact transport of the
material even where there are thickness
tolerances in the strip material.
Due to its compact design the patented
feeding system can be installed not only
on Bihler forming machines but also on
press units or profiling machines.
The lightweight construction allows high
stroking rates, up to 1,200 strokes per
minute at 10mm feed length. Even in
the case of long feeding lengths highest
positioning accuracy is assured.

than 60 years, manufactures a shaftless
powered pay-out and take-up machine for
in-line and distribution applications.
The FMP/T10 includes a 5 HP AC vector
precision torque and speed control
drive system for powered take-up and
tension-controlled payoff applications.
The FMP/T10 handles reel capacities from
24" to 96" diameter x 12" to 60" wide x
10,000 lb. Also included is an AC vector
precision levelwind to automatically feed
material onto the traverse of the take-up
reel. The FM Series is available for weight
capacities up to 100,000 lbs.
