corrosion-resistant materials, the cable
gripper weighs approximately 500kg and
has a lifting capacity of 20 tons.
It is available with hydraulic hotstab or
torque bucket interface options.
“Working in consultation with DNVGL,
we’ve designed the CRT200 gripper to
provide offshore contractors with a highly
effective way of recovering umbilical and
cable from any water depth.
“By gripping the end of the cable it is easier
to handle once on board the vessel,”
explained Keith Elliot, engineering director
at Allspeeds Ltd.

TE Connectivity (TE) has added new cable
assemblies to its Micro-MaTch product
range.
The new assemblies provide a cost-
effective solution for general purpose
applications where resistance to high
temperatures, high levels of vibration, or to
extended durability cycles are not required.
The assemblies are suitable for use in
environments where temperatures stay
within the –30ºC to +80ºC range.
TE’s
Micro-MaTch
value-line
cable
assemblies are available, from stock, with
between 4 and 20 positions and in standard
lengths of 7.5cm, 15cm and 20cm (2.95″,
5.91″, and 7.87″).
The assemblies incorporate a keyed
interface to prevent mismatching and
ensure a long operating life.
A range of receptacles in various
configurations offers enhanced versatility,
while the easy-connect system saves on
assembly times. The new assemblies feature
connectors with a PBT housing and nickel-
tin plated contacts. The cable has tinned
copper conductors insulated with PVC.
Micro-MaTch value-line cable assemblies
are intended for use in areas such as
intelligent buildings, lighting, HVAC, various
industrial fields and consumer electronics.
Typical applications include security
equipment, robotics, CCTV, TV set-top
boxes, AV equipment and electronic
voting machines.
