and correct hardness for a particular
application.
There is a wide range of welding
processes employed in the manufacture
of welded tubes, primarily depending
on the tube dimensions and material.
These processes include argon arc, laser,
plasma, induction, low frequency electric
resistance and conductive or inductive
high frequency resistance welding. The
latter technique is most common in today’s
industry.
In all cases the rolls need to be
manufactured to high accuracy and require
a high wear resistance and toughness.
Depending on the welding process, the
S+C Group is able to supply weld rolls
made from different materials including
specially treated Märker cold work tool
steels, hot work tool steels and hard
wearing aluminium bronze with non-
magnetic properties. This prevents the rolls
from becoming too hot by using in high
frequency welders.
