Point Kernel methods consist of two steps:
1. Trace the primary beam through the patient and
calculate
how much, and where, the beam
have “lost” energy
in the patient
2. Redistribute (“blur”)
that energy into patient
absorbed dose
by means of point kernels
that
describes the transport and energy absorption of
the secondary particles set into motion via
primary photon interactions
