HEAD FOOTBALL
COACH
ED KOESTER
years, and putting 140 kids
on the field this year at
South Paulding; lend credence
to a career as a builder.
Coach Koester and his wife,
Diane, have been married for
almost 42 years. Diane boasts that she has been in
the stands for all but one of her husband’s games. Together they have four children. Amy, a teacher in Gwinnett
County, Georgia. Kyle, an attorney in Woodstock, Georgia. Kurtis, who works in the insurance industry in Alpharetta,
Georgia. And Klay, who is the Offensive Coordinator at Virginia-Wise University. Both Coach Koester and his
wife hold leadership positions in their church – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Coach has never failed to give praise to assistant coaches and admin-
istrators who have aided him in serving students through athletics.
He understands loyalty and that a team is larger than those on the
field. Coach Koester respects the opportunity to work with young
men through football and education knowing he makes his greatest
contribution to society on the sideline.
