Suffolk University seeks to foster a campus environment that supports its educational mission
and is committed to providing a safe learning, living, and working environment for all members
of the University community that is free from all forms of sexual misconduct.
The University does not discriminate on the basis of sex or gender and the Policy on Sexual
Misconduct prohibits specific forms of behavior that violate Title IX of the Educational
Amendments of 1972 (“Title IX”) and/or all other applicable state and federal laws. The
University also complies with all obligations under the Violence Against Women
Reauthorization Act of 2013 (“VAWA”) and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security
Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (“Clery Act”).
The Policy on Sexual Misconduct also reflects the University’s commitment to educate, counsel,
and train all of the members of the University community about the nature of sexual misconduct,
its impact on individuals and the University community as a whole, and the steps necessary to
combat it.
The University prohibits sexual misconduct of any kind, including Sexual Assault, Sexual
Harassment, Gender-Based Harassment, Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Exploitation, Stalking
and Retaliation against a person for the good faith reporting of any of these forms of conduct or
participation in any investigation or proceeding under the Policy on Sexual Misconduct. Sexual
Misconduct is antithetical to the mission of the University and the values it espouses and will be
responded to diligently and accordingly. Creating a safe campus environment and a culture of
respect is the shared responsibility of all members of the University community, individually and
collectively.

designed to provide individuals with information about the Policy on Sexual Misconduct as well
as information and resources about sexual assault and other forms of sexual misconduct.
II. Summary of Process and Procedures
The University provides a variety of confidential and nonconfidential support resources,
reporting options and complaint procedures to those persons who believe they have been
subjected to Sexual Misconduct. The University will work closely with those persons to provide
referrals to on-campus or off-campus law enforcement and support resources. The University
