Your dance is great and wide
And solid
As if it moved in
A denser space-time,
It is an almost
Motionless whirling –
A master Kathakali dancer
In his voluminous robes
Uprooting trees
With the slightest flick
Of a wrist -
Massive and caring you stand
In welcome
In the midst of a clearing,
And your breath opens
A path of light
Waving and winding
To the heart –
