It is today, Sri Ganesh, as when
You are carried abroad in a great
Procession,
But there is silence
Prevailing,
Or it is the deep rhythmic sound
Of the Light that embraces
And the Power that Cares –
Imperious you glide
Midst the throngs,
In a strong posture of
Watchful concentration,
And your advance is
A white and red tide
While the bells gently tinkle
On your staff
Of knowledge
And a tender unassailable patience
Is revealed in your smile…

Tranquil you move or stand
Erect
On the Road of the People,
A Yogi and a Bard,
Holding the staff of harmony,
And your figure seems to be
Filled in equal measures
With power and light
While,
Within the silence
Of Their embrace
Is awaiting
The living flame
Of true love…
