This mail-in biological monitoring system in-
volves the use of bacterial spore test strips
for measuring the effectiveness of steam,
dry heat, chemical vapor and ethylene ox-
ide gas sterilization processes. CDC guide-
lines recommend weekly monitoring of all
practice autoclaves! These test strips also
provide an effective way to biologically mon-
itor both mechanical function and operator
technique for steam and dry heat sterilizers.
