W
hen I was in Japan in April this year,
the place was abuzz with Super Saiyan
fever. Okay, maybe just the geeky
places like Akihabara and Ikebukuro but even
still there was undeniable excitement for the
release of
Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'
which gets a release on DVD and Blu Ray this
month. Serious, there was merchandise
everywhere! Just ask my bank account. Just
when things seemed to be somewhat peaceful
for Goku and the gang, Frieza is back with one
final trick up his dastardly sleeve: he has
achieved yet another 'final' form.
Hozuki, the namesake of the
Hozuki’s
Coolheadedness Series Collection
, is more
or less the 2IC to Enma, the lord of Hell.
Considering his position as the anti-Saint Peter,
Hozuki is not so much a vicious arch-demon,
but more so a bureaucrat who is just trying
to get his job done. Like any bureaucrat, he’s
bound by systems and policies which hamper
his ability to perform his duties, so why not just
bend the rules? It is hell, after all.
In a twist of the usually Freaky Friday
scenario,
The Hentai Prince and the Stony
Cat Series Collection
tells the story of Koto
and Tsukiko, both of whom track down a
mysterious statue which is said to remove an
individual’s undesirable personality trait. The
only problem is that there seems to be an
almost alchemical part to the story wherein the
statue demands equivalent exchange.
This series,
Blast of Tempest Complete
Collection
, is almost impossible to describe
purely because of how ambitious it is.
Thematically Shakespearean elements are
lifted and used in both period plot pieces and
disembodied moments in time and space. As
with Shakespeare, you can expect tragedy to
envelop this story with characters who are well
fleshed out as well as wonderful animation by
BONES.
In a complete change of pace,
Haikyuu!!
Part 2
hits the shelves and kicks off just after
the fledgling team's first real practice game
against Nekoma High School. Full of vim and
vigour, the boys are ready to take on the world,
or at least other high school kids in the inter-
school tournament. This continues to be one of
the best sports anime around!
Collecting episodes 176-187, Fairy Tail
Collection 16
takes things to another level.
Just when you thought that the Grand Magic
Games couldn’t get any more epic, a threat of
even greater concern faces the Fairy Tail guild.
Keep your eyes peeled for what just may be the
most awesome 1 on 1 battle of the series thus
far; Erza vs Kagure.

Sure, we could ask Shenlong for
something worthwhile, like Mobile
Suits to assist in emergency
situations or even just to assist with
manual labour, or we could ask for
the real world creation of Sword Art
Online's Nerv Gear. Yep, forget all of
that helpful nonsense, what I want
is a headset which transports your
psyche into a massive multiplayer
online role playing game. Why?
Because I still have an infinitesimal
portion of my soul which hasn't
been given to Final Fantasy.
So that I'm not entirely self
involved, let's get Capsule Corp on
the phone and organise capsule
shelters which can literally pop into
existence from an item resembling
a Panadol. A duffle bag worth
of these things could provide
emergency accommodation for
people displaced by war or other
types of emergencies. See, I'm not
a total monster. However, it'd also
make camping much easier. I can
never figure out how to successfully
un-pop my pop-up tent.
Finally, let's get to work on
making cyber brains a thing.
Sure, it always seems to end in
tears in Ghost in the Shell, but I
feel as though this is the only way
that I'll ever manage to finish a
sudoku puzzle – by downloading the
answers into my brain.
