several samples representative of the matrix, i.e. samples obtained from different origin, during

1

any validation period when adopting the 3M method or when testing new or unknown matrices

2

or matrices that have undergone raw material or process changes.

3

A matrix can be defined as a type of product with intrinsic properties such as composition and

4

process. Differences between matrices may be as simple as the effects caused by differences

5

in their processing or presentation for example, raw vs. pasteurized; fresh vs. dried, etc.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

8

Store the 3M Molecular Detection Assay 2 -

Listeria

at 2-8°C. Do not freeze. Keep kit away from

9

light during storage. After opening the kit, check that the foil pouch is undamaged. If the pouch

10

is damaged, do not use. After opening, unused reagent tubes should always be stored in the re-

11

sealable pouch with the desiccant inside to maintain stability of the lyophilized reagents. Store

12

resealed pouches at 2-8°C for no longer than 60days.

13

14

Do not use 3M Molecular Detection Assay 2 -

Listeria

past the expiration date. Expiration date

15

and lot number are noted on the outside label of the box. After use, the enrichment medium and

16

the 3M Molecular Detection Assay 2 -

tubes can potentially contain pathogenic

17

materials. When testing is complete, follow current industry standards for the disposal of

18

contaminated waste. Consult the Safety Data Sheet for additional information and local

19

regulations for disposal.

20

21

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

22

Follow all instructions carefully. Failure to do so may lead to inaccurate results.

23

Periodically decontaminate laboratory benches and equipment (pipettes, cap/decap tools, etc.)

24

with a 1- 5% (v:v in water) household bleach solution or DNA removal solution.

Table 2 presents guidance for the enrichment of food and environmental samples. It is the

28

user’s responsibility to validate alternate sampling protocols or dilution ratios to ensure this test

29

method meets the user’s criteria.
