ensuring that the external salary offer is legitimate.
6.2 Department Heads must acquire advance approval of the above documentation from the
Human Resources Director for any counter offer BEFORE communicating with the employee.
6.3 Salary increases resulting from employee-accepted counter offers will be effective on the first
day of the next pay period nearest the date the documentation is completed by the requesting
Department Head and approved by the Human Resources Director (i.e., not retroactive).
